Women’s Active Wear Reviews

Here are some reviews for you to consider.

 Spalding Women’s Capri Legging

Best workout pants

Tried them all…. Hands down these pants are awesome! I prefer the black, but I ordered these to mix up wardrobe. I teach fitness classes so being comfy, versatile, and functional is very important to me. I’m 5’4 and “thick” :) . 38″ hips, full rear and these pants don’t “cut” into
Your trouble spots or make u feel self conscience …… They don’t give u a camel toe either!!!! Perfect for squats lunges, etc

Luv them!!!

So comfortable and appropriate to leave the house in!,

So normally I’m one of those girls that can’t stand when women wear leggings as pants because they’re see-through and not flattering (we all know what I’m talking about). But these are AWESOME. I bought them to work out in and they’re so comfortable and the perfect balance of spandex and cotton which means they don’t cut into you or look like they’re painted on. I’m 5’1 and 115 and I got a small because I have wider hips and a decent backside and they are perfect. Already went for a run in them and a t shirt and I didn’t feel like I was revealing too much like I do with some of the other legging/workout pants I’ve bought in the past. Definitely ordering 2-3 more pairs of the black. can’t have enough!

 Fave leggings

These are my favorite leggings to wear when I work out in the gym. The fabric is not thin as others have mentioned. I’m 197 lbs, 5’2″ and just had a baby. With other leggings, no matter how tight they were, they would ROLL down my tummy. This one held up even through a 1 hour boxing class of jumping and moving around and another one hour class of UFC ultimate training . They dry fast and are very comfortable no matter what workout I’m doing. I ordered 2 more!

Fabulous yoga pants for the price!

I recently bought two pairs of these capris and am seriously considering buying another 2 or 3 pair because they are such a great value for the price. I have running and yoga capris from Nike, Adidas, and New Balance (all of which I paid at least $40, if not more) and none of them are as comfy as these $15 cotton capris! Unlike the yoga capris I purchased online from Victoria’s Secret, which are so thin they are one step above mesh material and started getting holes after two washings, the capris are made of good quality material. The material is thick enough that you can’t see your butt cheeks if you bend over, but not so thick that it becomes hot and uncomfortable.

These capris also hold up really well through lots of sweating. I live in Florida and regularly go to a 90 minute hot yoga class where the classroom temperature is up in the mid to upper 90s, if not higher. I usually lose 1-2 pounds of sweat in that class, and these pants retain their shape REMARKABLY well given they are made of cotton! Naturally, they don’t retain their shape as well as synthetic blends, but I have worn them to class at least 10 times now and I have never had to pull them up because they were slipping off my waist.

One reviewer mentioned that the capris she received were itchy along the seams. I noticed a teeny bit of itchiness with the charcoal pair I bought, but not the black pair. After washing the tights, I just put an extra Downy sheet in the dryer…no more itchiness. This may not work for everyone, but it solved the issue for me.

To help out with sizing, I am 5’8″ and 130lbs with a 27″ waist and 37.5″ hips. I purchased the mediums because I was afraid the small would be just a bit too tight. Out of the bag, the mediums were just a hair too loose around the thighs and knees, but a very comfortable fit in the waist. I washed them in warm water, put them in the dryer on hot, and they shrank up to the perfect size. After my hot yoga class, they are back to being just a little loose around the thighs, but when I wear them just around the house or out to run errands they keep their shape. I’m glad I didn’t purchase the small because I like to wear my pants a few inches below my waist, and I think the small would have given me the dreaded muffin top!

All in all…extraordinarily happy with this purchase and would highly recommend to anyone!

Champion Women’s Cotton Fitness Bra

A Runner’s opinion

I received this sports bra 2 days after I ordered it. It looks just as it does in the picture. The tag that came with it says “Medium Impact Activities” (walking, pilates, yoga). I’m a runner so I probably would not have bought this if I knew it was for medium impact activities, but I don’t remember reading anything about that in the description before I purchased it. The first time I put it on, it was a tight fit, but that’s how I usually like my sports bras. In terms of running and exercising with it, it does a pretty good job of minimizing impact, but it doesn’t provide a ton of support especially for runners. For reference: I am normally a 32D and I purchased this product in a size small.

Medium impact sports bra

is ok for medium impact activities. Bargain for the price.
Personally I prefer fitness bra that I can remove easier (with hook and eye) especially after work out when body is all sweated.

Crystal tear

Love this sports bra

This is super comfortable and very supportive! I am a DD and have no issues, with most sports bras I have to double up just to keep them under control while doing cardio. But with this sports bra I only need the one!

 Champion Women’s Favorite Short

The shorts were very nice but

The shorts were made of nice material. And they looked huts like the picture. The only problem was I ordered x-large, but when I compared them to my danskin shorts they were at least 4 inched bigger in the waist. So, keep in mind they run much bigger if you are purchasing them.

Martin

Comfortable for working out,

These shorts are very comfortable and durable. They run a little large, so I would get medium if you think you need large, etc.

A great basic pair of shorts

I read reviews by other purchasers and saw that many people commented that the sizes run small, so I bought a Small size (I normally buy medium). These are a great basic pair of shorts for the price, I would buy them again.

Perfect Fit

For a long time I have searched online for cotton shorts with elastic waist that I could wear comfortably at home. The shorts that I found were usually too long of poly mixed fabric and buttoned waist. I live in Hawaii and am 5’1″. These shorts are perfect for our weather and for my height. I bought four shorts and am thinking of buying more. The shorts were true to size. I love them!

Soffe Juniors Athletic Short

All around Shorts

These shorts are very comfy. I do take a med but ordered XL, because of feedback I read. They are perfect. My husband says they are very short, not to wear them out to the store. Great PJ shorts or for every day.

 Misunderstood description

I love this brand of shorts which is why I gave it 3 stars. However, I misunderstood the description and when I click on different links to the item, it changes from Juniors to Girls. I understood Juniors to mean teenage girl age. As a 20 year old girl, I can easily wear a M/L in these shorts for Juniors/adults. When I got my package, I received a Youth Large instead. I had to give the shorts to someone else who could wear them because I needed them on a time crunch. This is a good brand, just a little confusing on the description.

Cassie

Fits well and comfortable

I needed more running/work out shorts, and I couldn’t find anything to really beat this price. I love soffes, specifically because they “move with your body”. They’re normally not too baggy, falling down, or not fitting in those “awkward” areas.

Either I’ve gotten to be a smaller size, or these shorts are knock-offs…because these shorts don’t fit me like my other soffes. They’re awkwardly baggy in the crotch, the bum isn’t defined, the legnth is a bit longer than the others (even when “properly” rolled up).

The main pro is that the material is very soft and comfortable. So I could see myself wearing these to the gym, and maybe even to bed on a warmer night.

Glamorise Women’s No Bounce Full Support Sport Bra

Holds everything in place.

I wear a size 36D and I do Irish Dancing. Usually, big boobs and dance don’t mix, unless you have a supportive bra. This bra works well for me. Keeps everything in place.

I like how the cups make it easier for my breasts to breathe and how its not bunching them together to make cleavage. Also I like the top portion where the shirt seam would be. It creates smoothness towards and makes my day easier knowing that my breasts are safely packed away and not going all over the place.

Why this isn’t 5 stars is because the bra is a bit of the pain to put on and I just don’t like spending so much time putting my clothes on.

Great sports bra

I have problems finding a regular bra that fits me comfortably and after two returned sports bras I didn’t think I would find one that fit me. I have a vigorous work out regimen with my new personal trainer and definitely needed more support than my regular bra was giving me. This fit perfectly and I could do all the excercises he threw at me without worrying about it. I am ordering a second one today! Highly recommend this bra if you have trouble finding your size/fit.

GigiMarie

FANTASTIC support!!!!

I have been on a sports bra search for years and years and I have finally found one I am happy with. I usually wear a 42-44DDD bra and I ordered the 42F which fits perfectly. I could literally do jumping jacks. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I HAVE EVER ONLY HAD TO WEAR ONE BRA!!! LADIES, YOU KNOW WHAT I’M TALKING ABOUT!! I even did a 10K in this thing with no problem. Yes, it’s the ugliest thing you’ve ever seen but who cares?!

Champion Women’s Powerback Under Wire Sports Bra

Great sports bra, if you are willing to take the time to find the right size

If you are considering this bra, you are probably one of many women endowed with large breasts, who has had to wear two bras before for the “support” during exercise. And they probably did not help very much except to have flabs showing through sports tops…Well, you get the point.
As far as I know, for the given price, this is the best available bra out there for large breasted women (I am myself somewhere in the 34DDD range). I have two of these in 34DD, going to order my third one, and never had to find another type of bra. I have run 10-Ks and a half-marathon in these, and done various step and aerobic classes. The wide straps and the back support are super. Overall, this bra reduces bounce and gives good support. N.B: Champion notes that higher the bra size, lower the MCR. So, if you are getting D cups and 40-42C cups, you will get “High MCR” instead of “Max MCR”. [...]

But if you want to make this bra work for you, here is what I did:
Once I saw this bra online, I simply went to my local running store (Roadrunner Sports in California) and tried it on. I made sure that it fit me more snug than usual so that even if it loosens up, it will still give me the support. I bought one in the store, and after loving it, bought one from Amazon. Trying it on in the store, even though you may not purchase it there is the key.
On to “cons” people have been writing about these bras:
1. Yes, you will have trouble putting it on at first. I just put in all the hooks first and put it on through my head like a t-shirt.
2. The underwire might feel uncomfortable as it stops just short of your armpit. But I have never had any serious injuries.
3. I find that sometimes after vigorous exercise, the bra feels constricting enough for me to want to remove it ASAP.
To me, these cons seem to hardly matter when you cannot exercise properly due to breast bounce, and have neck/backaches due to poor chest support. If you are unhappy with your current bras, do try it on once in a store and decide for yourself. Unless you get chafed/hurt like some of those other poor women, you will not regret this decision.

I Love this bra!,

Ok, so once you figure out how to get the bra on you are on your way. I spin regularly, and it is a must have. I have tried every kind of sports bra out there and this by far is the best! It totally controls the bounce. I have it in both versions with and without the wire, and now find myself only wearing the wire one, even for weights and all because of how much control it has. Now, getting out of it the the next trick! My husband was watching me put it on, and he was cracking up!

Racer back, runs small

Be sure you know this has a racer back, and it runs small. Also, it is difficult to get on, over the head, and to then fasten and unfasten. Once on, it is a great sports bra for large breasted women. It fits tightly and is very supportive. The black is nice.

 Panache Women’s Underwired Sports Bra

The best sports bra I own, but pricey!

I am blessed with a lot above the waist (34F) and I’m a runner. I’ve always had a hard time finding sports bras that support well, minimize bounce, and decrease uniboob. This bra does all that, and is very well made, good quality materials, I know it will last a long time. So, even though it’s a bit pricey, it’s a worthwhile investment. I have 2 and will likely purchase more if different colors become available via prime membership/shipping. Oh, and if I have one piece of advice, it’s go to a PROFESSIONAL bra store (not your local dept store) and get properly fitted. I thought I was a 36DD, and after getting fitted, I can tell you it makes all the difference in the world to wear the right size bra.

Favorite sports bra

I am a 32F and this is the best fitting (sports) bra I have found. I love the fact that the hooks attach on the back but I heard that it loosens after a while if you use it a lot. I am obsessed with having my bras fit perfect and the separate cups don’t make me feel ‘squished’ and the contouring just helps minimize bounce greatly. I’m about to buy my third one bc I am tired of using the “i don’t have a clean sports bra” excuse for not working out.

AMAZING!!!! Answered Prayer for a Top Heavy Mama!!

I am a 38E, this bra has allowed me to get back into working out and even.. running. It is comfortable, looks great and best of all, it works. It holds it all in without squishy you out the sides so your arms are not hitting the sides of yoru breasts while working out & lifts and seperates so you don’t wind up with a “Uni-boob”. Hands down the best bra of any sort that I have ever owned.

ORDER ONE SIZE SMALLER!

I absolutely Love this bra. I’ve got 40FF’s and have had a large chest since early highschool, even back when I was a bit smaller around the waist (:P). They’ve always gotten in the way and it took long enough to find a good, every day, under-wire bra. I had simply given up on sports bras because I could never find any that were up for the challenge, and most lingerie stores (including the plus size demographic) told me to just wear an under-wire…uh, ouch? So I resolved myself to mashing them into two sports bras of whatever fit. Granted – no matter what – if you’re trying to go out running with huge bazooms, they’re going to hurt and go everywhere. I’ve literally been punched in the face by my own tata before. These aren’t a magical cure all for that, and I’d be surprised if one exists. But, I do Zumba every day and would usually squeeze into the largest, but tightest sports bra I could and then wear another sports cami with a shelf on top of that, and that still felt substandard most days. With this thing, I felt like I didn’t even need to wear the cami – Shoot, this thing’s been the closest to feeling like they weren’t even there since I can remember.

Cons:
- As stated earlier: order a size smaller. I started with my usual size (I get measured 2-3 times a year) and the cups and rib cage were too big. I exchanged it for a 38F, and it fits perfect.
- There’s a slight uniboob, but honestly, it does a Really good job keeping them apart for how much support it has. I’m not complaining, I’ve had Way worse.
- Little on the “spensive” side. Definitely don’t settle for the wrong size, ladies. Return it if it aint right the first time. The girls deserve better than that! And so does your back.

Other Pros:
- Nice thick, wide straps that distribute weight well.
- A metal latch on the back of the shoulder straps to make a racerback. (Haven’t tested it yet, but the steel they used feels solid and strong)
- Holds onto the rib cage very securely without suffocating or digging (there’s a bit of a scratchiness to it at first, but I’ve never had a bra that doesn’t lose that after a bit of wear and a few washes)

Zumba Exhilerate

Zumba Exhilerate

What could be better than dancing around and losing weight?! Zumba keeps me in shape and unlike any other workout it does not become repetitive or boring. I hate the gym and I’m so glad to have a workout that I can truly get into and have fun with. Zumba is part of my everyday schedule and since it is so accessible I can workout on my own time. Now there is no need to worry about making the classes at the local gym. These classes cost a lot of money at my gym, too. When I saw I could get the same workout without paying the membership fee along with booking classes, it was a no brainer. I’ve been using the DVD’s for a little under 2 months now and along with a healthy diet I have never felt this great. I stay toned, have more energy, and even learned some great new dances. Types of dances you’ll experience on these DVD’s include salsa, hip-hop, and reggaeton. One of the only issues I have with this box set is the toning sticks…they are a little chintzy. I prefer using rubber dumbbells my husband had gotten me a couple years ago:

Altus Athletic 32-Pound Dumbbell Set with Stand These are the exact ones I have that are absolutely amazing. They are durable and come with a nice small stand that fit perfect in the hallway closet.

I also supplement with Raspberry Ketone Platinum (2 Bottles) – Clinical Strength – All Natural Fat Burning, Weight Loss, Diet Formula, 60 capsules before workouts, which gives me a great energy boost and has helped me lose weight faster.

I started using it about 3 weeks into Zumba and since then I have been losing almost twice the amount of weight (was averaging 2.5 to 3 pounds a week without the supplement now about 5 pounds a week while using it) They are all natural and fit the exact criteria Dr. Oz suggests. There are several different brands out there, I just find this one to be one of the best.

I will continue to use these DVD’s for as long as I can dance. Just to give you idea of my results I am currently 5’6 and had a starting weight of 171. Since starting I have lost a total 26 lbs and have toned up in places I never thought muscle could exist! If you like dancing and looking great then Zumba is for you :)

It’s Fun and It Works

It’s Fun and it works

Let me start by stating that I’m a middle aged man who can’t dance!
So now you are probably asking … what was I thinking? This series of DVDs is clearly targeted at women, and the dialogue in the DVDs reflects that Shaun believes (probably rightly so) that the majority of the viewers are female. Well with that said, I can still say that I’m glad I bought this exercise series – even though I believe it was a late night insomnia induced purchase.

I was looking for something to help me work my abs that wouldn’t be total tedium and this one came with the added bonus that it would “teach me to dance”. Ok so here’s what I really got:
an extremely well paced cardio workout for someone just getting back into shape. The Fat Burning Cardio routine is the best paced cardio routine I’ve ever done. High intensity moments are followed by lower intensity moments to let you catch your breath.
a good motivator in Shaun.
moves that are not boring but let’s face it – they are like dancing, so if you don’t like dancing in front of a group of people you won’t like doing them in front of the rest of your family. Trust me, they make fun of me still for the couple of times that they saw me working out with these DVDs. I exercise early in the morning now before anyone else gets up.
and I felt better busting out a few moves at a wedding this past weekend but let’s face it … I still can’t dance!
There is something that I would also mention however, if you have bad knees then find something else to do. Some of the moves in these DVDs (even if following the low impact gal) are hard on the knees.

I’ve been doing them now for two months and I still find myself enjoying it. I usually lose interest in exercise by this point so that alone should tell you that this is a good one.
